Defy gravity in LawBreakers
LawBreakers is a science-fiction first-person shooter in which you choose a hero and do battle with other players in a variety of multiplayer game modes. Although some of the characters are scruffy space criminals, the laws referred to in the title aren't laws against murder or theft: they're the laws of gravity and physics, which the game's levels break without remorse.
Fly, you fools
In many ways, LawBreakers resembles other 'hero shooters' like Overwatch. Each class has its own combination of weapons, movement and abilities that make it dangerous in some situations but vulnerable in others. Where it stands apart from other games is its use of vertical space and weird gravity. Characters and level areas can invert or remove gravity, teleport, fly and otherwise bounce around, making combat a 360-degree experience. This can take quite a lot of getting used to if you're accustomed to thinking of combat as a mostly grounded affair, as it is in many shooters. Visually, the game is something of a hybrid, mingling a more modern aesthetic with the kind of clunky, chunky design that was so popular in the early-to-mid 2000s. Fast-paced and frantic -- sometimes a little too frantic -- this game is challenging but fascinating.

If you like shooters but wish they were zanier and more three-dimensional, LawBreakers is definitely worth putting in the effort to master it.
